Virgin Islands are located in the eastern side of the Caribbean Sea, near the island of the Puerto Rico and as part of the group of islands known as Lesser Antilles. US Virgin Islands are located in the western side of the archipelago, near the eastern coast of Puerto Rico. The most important and biggest islands of this group are St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Water Islands even though there are many smaller islands as well. The capitol city of the US Virgin Islands is Charlotte Amalie, located in the island of Saint Thomas. They have a similar climate to the one on the British Virgin Islands. However, earthquakes, cyclones and tsunamis are much more frequent here.
