Turkey has lots of cities and coastal towns that depend mostly on tourism among which we must mention Antalya, Iskenderun, Izmir, Hopa, Gernlik and of course Istanbul, the largest city in the country. But if we are talking about Turkey, there is one special city that we need to take into consideration firstly: Istanbul, the only city in the world that occupies two different continents (both Europe and Asia). This is without a doubt the richest city in Turkey not only economically, but also in terms of tourism and cultural events.
Byzantine heritage is most easily observed in the incredibly beautiful basilica of Hagia Sophia, a must for every couple that want to enjoy the wonderful human creations. Other venues to enjoy in Istanbul are the Galata Tower, the Museum of Modern Art, the great Topkapi Palace (home to lots of ancient emperors) and the Hippodrome. On the Asian side you must visit the Camlica Hill, from where the entire city can be seen while you enjoy a nice coffee together. Restaurants, public markets, fairs, bazaars and nightclubs are typical of this city and lots of other Turkish cities and they give you the chance to actually meet this country’s traditions and lifestyle while also enjoying it with the person you love the most.
