Italy Travel Destination
Italy is located in the south of the European country and it is nowadays one of the largest ones if you take in consideration that many European countries are tiny. Italy does not only comprise its continental land but also two major islands such as Sicilia and Sardinia. While the Vatican and San Marino are independent states completely inserted in Italian territory, Campione d’Italia is an exclave located in the country of Switzerland. Italy shares borders with the countries of France, Slovenia, Austria and Switzerland while on its south the Italian peninsula is completely surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.
With its capitol and largest city in Rome, Italy is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of culture and tradition, being the ancient Roman Empire a strong force in the development of western culture and civilization. Italy is home to the most numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites and apart from sites and monuments which are extremely famous such as the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, the Pisa Tower, the Fontana di Trevi, Vatican City, in Italy you also have the chance to enjoy its beautiful and totally romantic cities.
In this sense, if you go to Italy, apart from visiting Rome you must go to Florence, Milan, Genoa, Pisa, Naples, Bologna, Venice and Verona. These last two cities are definitely made for honeymooners. While Venice is where romance flows naturally through its amazing and refined canals and gorgeous buildings, Verona is the city where the most famous fictional love story took place so if you want to feel the passion that Romeo and Juliet once felt in the minds of every reader, Verona is the right place for you.
When it comes to enjoying Italy on a honeymoon, we believe that the most distinctive and attractive feature is its culture. Both Roman Empire and Renaissance were really important to our western culture and therefore you won’t ever get bored in any Italy city or town because everything is history and culture there.
However, you can also enjoy the beautiful Italian open country with its romantic villages and little towns where there is no place for other thing than love. As you have probably seen in movies like The Godfather or Il Postino, Italy has impressive landscapes in which you will also be able to enjoy wineries and some of the most traditional Italian lifestyle.
