With its capitol and largest city in Rome, Italy is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of culture and tradition, being the ancient Roman Empire a strong force in the development of western culture and civilization.

Italy is divided into twenty administrative regions among which Lazio, Lombardy, Liguria, Veneto and Sicilia are the most important ones.

Each of these regions has a climate and scenario of its own and while the coastal regions share a tropical weather, the eastern side of Italy is usually colder.
